Bertha Mason, the original Mrs. Rochester, has not been treated well – not by her husband, and not by the Charlotte Brontë either.
This is a major turning point for Jane’s journey – and the first of several relationships that define Jane’s coming of age.
The first Jane/Eyre single is named after the book young Jane reads at the start of Charlotte Brontë’s novel, and our stage adaptation with Grapefruit Lab.
For our second album, we revisit a unified piece of storytelling and music in four movements. This is a modern Denver mythology, based on the Greek stories of Hermaphroditus and Salmacis. This was also developed into a theater production with Grapefruit Lab.
